10 crude bombs recovered in abandoned state in Jatrabari's Dania

Police recovered 10 cocktails from an abandoned bag in the South Dania area under Jatrabari Police Station in the capital on Sunday.
Niaz Mehedi, additional deputy commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Media and Public Relations Division, confirmed this on Monday (September 21).
According to a press release, police found an old plastic shopping bag lying at the entrance of a lane beneath a six-storey building near the South Dania Kacha Bazar area at around 6PM on Sunday. A search of the bag led to the recovery of 10 cocktails.
The matter was immediately reported to the DMP bomb disposal unit. Members of the unit rushed to the scene, secured the area and recovered the explosive devices.
Later, at around 10:25PM, the bomb disposal unit safely defused the cocktails at Golapbagh Field in Jatrabari, following required safety measures and procedures.
Police are conducting necessary operations to identify those involved and bring them to justice, the release added.
