Newborn's father commits suicide in Feni

A 29-year-old man was found hanging at his home in Feni’s Chhagalnaiya on Monday, three days after becoming a father to a baby boy.
The deceased, Abdul Halim, was the son of Amir Hossain of Nichinta village in Radhanagar union. His wife and newborn son are still in hospital.
Family members said Halim had been worried about the cost of bringing his wife and newborn home and other financial difficulties. He returned home alone from the hospital on Sunday night.
On Monday morning, his father found him hanging from a bamboo beam in his bedroom. Police recovered the body and sent it to Feni 250-bed General Hospital for autopsy.
Chhagalnaiya Police Station OC Mohammad Abu Taher said Halim was under financial stress and preliminarily suspected that he died by suicide.
“His exact cause of death will be confirmed after the autopsy report,” he said.
Police have filed an unnatural death case.
