JMI Group celebrates World Peace Day 2026 with rally, discussion

JMI Group celebrated World Peace Day 2026 with a peace rally and discussion in Dhaka on Monday, continuing its 17-year tradition of observing the day.

JMI Group Founder and Managing Director Md Abdur Razzaq inaugurated the rally by releasing balloons and white doves in front of Curzon Hall at Dhaka University. The rally passed through Doyel Chattar before ending at the Press Club intersection.

Later, a discussion was held at the Abdus Salam Auditorium of the National Press Club. Speakers highlighted the importance of equality, justice, human rights and mutual respect in building a peaceful society and world.

Razzaq said JMI Group has been observing World Peace Day in Bangladesh for the past 17 years and remains committed to standing beside oppressed people and promoting peace and fundamental rights.

JMI Group Chairman Md Jabed Iqbal Pathan said peace is not merely the absence of war but also the establishment of human rights and justice. He called for greater equality, mutual respect and humanitarian values.

Associate Professor of Dhaka University’s Department of Peace and Conflict Studies Dr Md Touhidul Islam attended the event as a special guest, along with JMI officials and journalists.
