Body recovered from Dhanmondi Lake

Police recovered the body of a 51-year-old man from Dhanmondi Lake in the capital on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Md Javed Ahmed, a marketing consultant, according to his family.

Dhanmondi police recovered the body from beneath a bridge behind Abesh Hotel in Dhanmondi around 7:30 AM. It was later sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police said Javed had reportedly been unemployed for a long time and was under mental distress due to financial hardship. They are investigating whether he died by suicide.

The exact cause of death will be known after the autopsy report, police said.

Javed, son of Salauddin Ahmed, lived in Bashundhara Residential Area.
