Truck crashes into tree in Gopalganj, one killed

A man was killed after a truck lost control and crashed into a roadside tree in Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Subal Das, 35, son of Pradip Das of Itagachha village in Satkhira.

The accident occurred in the Dakshin Chandibardi area of the Dhaka-Khulna highway, police and local sources said.

The truck was travelling from Dhaka towards Gopalganj when the driver lost control, causing it to crash into a tree before falling into a roadside ditch.

Muksudpur Fire Service personnel rescued the injured man and took him to Muksudpur Upazila Health Complex, where the attending doctor declared him dead.

Muksudpur Police Station OC Abdullah Al-Mamun confirmed the death and said the body would be handed over to the family after legal procedures.
