Tarique Rahman meets Turkish Prez Erdogan at Turkevi Center

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Turkevi Center in New York on Tuesday to discuss strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Turkiye.
The closed-door meeting took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
During the talks, both leaders exchanged views on expanding bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including economy, trade, and investment.
They emphasized maintaining close coordination and mutual support on key regional and international issues of common interest.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening historic ties and exploring new avenues of strategic partnership based on shared priorities.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, currently in New York for the UNGA session, also attended the General Debate opening on Tuesday alongside holding several sideline meetings.
The Prime Minister held separate bilateral discussions with Bhutanese Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay and Maldives Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef at UN Headquarters to enhance regional cooperation.
Later, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met World Bank Group President Ajay Banga to discuss Bangladesh's development priorities, economic stability, and future partnership programs.
He also met UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy on Myanmar Julie Bishop, requesting international support for a sustainable solution to the Rohingya crisis and safe repatriation of displaced refugees.
Additionally, the Prime Minister held talks with Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé on mutual bilateral interests and diplomatic cooperation.
