Tk 51.65 lakh black stone recovered in Joypurhat

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered a 51.65kg piece of black stone allegedly kept for smuggling to India from the Joypurhat border area.

Joypurhat-20 BGB Battalion said the stone was recovered during a special operation at Bhuidoba under Koya Border Outpost around 10:30 PM on Tuesday.

The stone was found abandoned about 50 yards inside Bangladesh from border pillar No. 282/25-S.

Experts from Paharpur Buddhist Vihara later verified the stone’s authenticity. Following legal procedures, it was handed over to the Department of Archaeology, the BGB said.
