BGB seizes smuggled cosmetics at Jhenaigati

JHENAIGATI, SHERPUR, Sept 23: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized Indian cosmetics worth an estimated Tk 17,58,250 during an anti-smuggling operation in the Jhenaigati border area of the district early Wednesday.

The operation in the Gajni border area also led to the seizure of a power-tiller trolley allegedly used to transport the goods. No arrests were made as the suspected smugglers fled after detecting the BGB patrol, said Lt Col Md Nurul Azim Bayezid, commander of the Mymensingh Battalion (39 BGB).
