Prime Minister Tarique Rahman held a bilateral meeting with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on Wednesday (September 23) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

During the discussion, both prime ministers emphasized strengthening the friendly relations between Bangladesh and Croatia while exploring avenues to expand bilateral trade and investment.

The two leaders highlighted the importance of boosting economic cooperation, expanding trade, and creating new investment opportunities. They also discussed enhancing collaboration in potential sectors including skilled manpower, education, and technology.

Furthermore, both prime ministers stressed the need to reinforce mutual cooperation between Bangladesh and Croatia across various multilateral forums, including the United Nations, and agreed to increase coordination on international issues of common concern.

Both sides exchanged views on transforming existing diplomatic ties into more effective economic and institutional partnerships for mutual benefit.
