Biman to buy 11 more Boeing aircraft

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has signed a supplementary agreement with Boeing to purchase 11 more aircraft as part of its fleet and network expansion plans.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, according to a statement issued by Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Thursday.

Biman Chairman Rumi A Hossain and Boeing Senior Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing Brad McMullen signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

Under the deal, Biman will purchase five Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners and six Boeing 737-8 aircraft.

“This supplementary agreement marks an important step in the ongoing expansion of Biman’s fleet and network,” said Rumi A Hossain.

He said the new order was aligned with the airline’s specific fleet planning requirements.

“Over the years, our team’s effective working relationship with Boeing has strengthened our confidence in aircraft delivery and support management,” he added.
