Injured woman lies on road as bystanders film instead of helping

An injured woman lay bleeding on a road in Chattogram’s Rangunia for a long time on Wednesday night as several bystanders reportedly took photos and videos instead of helping her.

The woman, later identified as Bina Nath, 50, was reportedly hit by an unidentified vehicle on the Kaptai Road in the Chandraghona Chara Battola area.

She was eventually rescued by several people, including BNP leader Yusuf Sikder and local Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal leaders, and taken to Rangunia Upazila Health Complex. She was later shifted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for better treatment.

Bina’s family identified her after photos of the injured woman were shared on social media. Her son said she had gone missing from their rented home around 3 PM on Wednesday.

The rescuers urged people to help injured or helpless people instead of focusing on taking photos or videos.
