Two Dhaka Central Jail inmates die at DMCH

Two inmates of Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) after falling ill, within hours of each other on Wednesday night.

The deceased were Mohammad Iftekhar Mahmud, 36, and Mohammad Tofazzal Hossain Palash, 38.

Iftekhar fell ill inside the jail on September 19 and was admitted to the DMCH medicine department. He died around 9 PM on Wednesday while undergoing treatment.

Palash suddenly fell unconscious inside the jail on Wednesday night. He was taken to DMCH around 10:30pm, where doctors declared him dead at around 11:30 PM.

The authorities did not disclose the cases in which the two were detained.
