Shah Rukh Khan retains top spot among India’s richest actors

Shah Rukh Khan has retained his position as India’s wealthiest actor, although his estimated fortune has fallen considerably over the past year, according to the Hurun India Rich List 2026.
The Bollywood superstar’s net worth is estimated at Rs 100 billion, equivalent to Tk 128.5 billion, in the latest ranking. He remains ahead of Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan, Hindustan Times reported.
Khan’s estimated wealth was Rs 124.9 billion, or Tk 160.5 billion, in the 2025 list. His fortune therefore dropped by Rs 24.9 billion, or around Tk 32 billion, over the past year.
His wealth comes from sources beyond his acting career, including his production company Red Chillies Entertainment and his stake in the Kolkata Knight Riders through Knight Riders Sports.
However, the figures are estimates and can fluctuate based on the valuation of private businesses, investments and other assets.
Amitabh Bachchan holds the second position among actors, with an estimated fortune of Rs 40 billion, or Tk 51.4 billion. His wealth has risen from Rs 16.3 billion in 2025, with investments, property and assets managed through his family office contributing to his fortune.
Salman Khan ranks third with an estimated wealth of Rs 30 billion, or Tk 38.6 billion.
Hrithik Roshan follows with Rs 25 billion, or Tk 32.1 billion, up from Rs 21.6 billion last year. His fitness and lifestyle brand HRX remains one of his major business interests.
Meanwhile, actress Juhi Chawla and filmmaker Karan Johar, both listed in 2025, do not appear in the 2026 rankings. Chawla’s estimated wealth was Rs 77.9 billion last year, while Johar’s stood at Rs 18.8 billion.
The latest list also includes prominent figures from the business side of the Indian film industry. Naresh Malhotra, father of “Ramayana” producer Namit Malhotra, tops that group with an estimated wealth of Rs 160 billion, or Tk 205.6 billion. Producers Bhushan Kumar, Ronnie Screwvala and Kalanithi Maran are also among those featured.
Khan is next set to appear in “King”, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film stars Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Suhana Khan, Raghav Juyal, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi and Jackie Shroff.
“King” is scheduled for a Dec 24 theatrical release, placing it between the Hollywood releases “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Dune Part 3”.
