Taylor Swift drops ‘Patient Zero’

The MTV Video Music Awards are set to take place on September 27 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. At this year’s ceremony, Hollywood singer Taylor Swift will be honoured with the ‘Artist Director Honors’ for the first time. She has also been nominated for nine awards at the event.
However, Taylor Swift has shared some surprise news: a new song titled ‘Patient Zero’, which is set to be released on September 25.
Taylor Swift announced the new song in an Instagram post on Tuesday (September 22). Sharing a selfie, she wrote, “I’ve been eagerly waiting to tell you that my brand-new single, ‘Patient Zero,’ will be released on September 25.”
Pre-orders for the song have already begun on Taylor Swift’s website. Acoustic and piano versions of the song are also available for fans, each featuring different cover art. The cover of the piano version shows Taylor posing while wearing a ring.
The song arrives amid a new chapter in Taylor’s personal and musical life. On July 3, she married NFL star Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden in New York. Around 1,000 guests attended the wedding, which included personal touches such as vows written by the couple themselves. The ceremony was officiated by comedy actor Adam Sandler, adding a zany twist to the otherwise standard wedding.
‘Patient Zero’ follows the release of Taylor Swift’s album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’. Released in October 2025, the album held the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart for 12 weeks.
