TANGAIL, Sept 24: The Tangail Zilla Parishad conducted a comprehensive mosquito eradication and cleanliness drive on Thursday afternoon to combat dengue and other vector-borne diseases.
Operating under the slogan “Keep the surroundings clean, a dengue-free country is everyone’s commitment,” Zilla Parishad Administrator Obaidul Haque Nasir led the campaign at the district headquarters using fogging machines.
The initiative focuses on destroying mosquito breeding grounds, clearing stagnant water, and sanitising unhygienic areas across Zilla Parishad premises. Officials urged residents to maintain clean surroundings and prevent water accumulation to curb outbreaks.
“Controlling dengue requires more than just official drives,” Nasir said, emphasising that individual civic responsibility is crucial. The Zilla Parishad confirmed that the cleaning and mosquito-control operations will continue regularly.
