Baitul Mukarram Islamic Book Fair gains momentum

Almost all types of book readers, including Islamic book lovers, are visiting the month-long Islamic Book Fair at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque premises in the capital, marking Eid-e-Miladunnabi (SAW) 1448 Hijri.

Organised by the Islamic Foundation, the fair has brought together 206 local and international publishing organisations through 144 stalls. Seven international publishers from Egypt, Lebanon, Pakistan and India are also participating.

The busy fair offers a wide range of publications, including Holy Quran, Hadith, Seerah, Islamic literature, history, research, culture, and religious and moral books fit to children and teenagers.

Publishers are offering various ranges of discounts from 10 to 60 per cent on the basis of categories, sizes and volumes. Books of Tk1 and Tk10,000 are available at a 35pc discount. 

Books of above Tk10,000 sell at 40pc discount. The fair also has arranged a separate seating for female, a children’s corner, an information centre, a magazine and writers’ corner, and a media corner.

A major attraction is ‘Seerah Exhibition’, organised by Wafa Hifz International School, showing 13 projects highlighting the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
