DMP arrests 548 in 24hrs across Dhaka

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the DMP Media and Public Relations Division Md Akhtar Hossain confirmed the data on Friday (September 25).

According to the divisional breakdown, Tezgaon Division made the highest number of arrests at 96, followed by Uttara Division with 93, Mirpur Division with 92, Motijheel Division with 75, Wari Division with 54, Gulshan Division with 46, Lalbagh Division with 44, and Ramna Division with 31. Additionally, the Detective Branch (DB) arrested 16 persons, while the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit arrested one.

During the operations, police recovered 36.1 kilograms of cannabis, 17,345 Yaba pills, 50 Tapentadol tablets, one motorcycle, and 10 mobile phones, while also rescuing one victim.

DC Akhtar Hossain stated that the arrests and seizures were made during drives conducted across various police station jurisdictions in the capital. He added that legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are currently underway.
