Veteran Bollywood actor Mushtaq Khan passed away on Thursday (September 24) evening at a hospital after a long battle with lung cancer.
He breathed his last around 7:00 PM at the age of 56, as confirmed by FWICE President BN Tiwari and the actor's business partner Shivam.
He was admitted to the hospital eight days prior due to deteriorating health following a cancer relapse. His burial is scheduled to take place on Friday.
Spanning over four decades, Mushtaq Khan appeared in more than 100 Hindi films. He made his silver screen debut in 1980 with 'Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyoon Aata Hai'. Over the years, he starred in numerous iconic movies including 'Aashiqui', 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke', 'Hera Pheri', 'Gaddar: Ek Prem Katha', 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi', 'Welcome', 'Wanted', and 'OH My God!'.
His portrayal of a henchman in the 2007 hit 'Welcome' gained widespread fame among younger audiences, with his iconic scene starting with the dialogue 'Meri ek taang nakli hai...' becoming a hugely popular meme across social media platforms.
Beyond cinema, Mushtaq Khan also worked in television and web productions, leaving a lasting mark throughout his long career by turning even small roles into memorable ones with his signature acting style and brilliant comic timing.
