Unidentified elderly woman found dead outside DMCH emergency department

An unidentified 60-year-old woman was found unconscious outside the waiting room of the emergency department at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the capital’s Shahbagh area on Friday afternoon.

The incident occurred at around 3:30 PM, said Habibur Rahman, inspector and in-charge of the DMCH police camp.

He said the woman was found lying unconscious outside the emergency department’s waiting room. She was later taken to the emergency department, where the duty doctor declared her dead at around 4:00 PM.

The police official said the woman was initially believed to have died from an illness. The exact cause of death will be known after the autopsy report.

The body has been kept at the DMCH morgue.
