Six-year-old girl allegedly raped, killed

A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed in Ashuganj of Brahmanbaria on Friday (September 25), with her mother discovering her lifeless body after breaking into a room.

According to the family, a teenage boy from a neighbouring house called the girl away while Friday prayers were underway. When she failed to return home, her mother began searching for her.

At one point, the mother spotted the child’s shoes outside the teenager’s house. She then entered the house and found her daughter lying motionless inside. Hearing her screams, neighbours rushed to the scene, while the teenager reportedly fled.

Locals later caught the teenager and handed him over to police. Assistant Superintendent of Police Jahangir Alam said the accused allegedly admitted his involvement during police questioning.

A doctor at Brahmanbaria 250-bed General Hospital said the girl was brought to the hospital dead and had injury marks on different parts of her body. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
