Six-year-old girl allegedly raped, killed

A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed in Ashuganj, Brahmanbaria, with her mother discovering her lifeless body after breaking into a room.
The incident occurred around noon on Friday (September 25) at Haji Quddus Mia’s house near Andirdil Bazar in Talshahar union, according to police and the child’s family.
The girl was found seriously injured around 12PM and was rushed to Brahmanbaria 250-bed District Sadar Hospital. Doctors at the emergency department declared her dead at around 2:30PM after examination.
Police visited the scene after receiving information about the incident and later detained the teenager, identified as Zahidul, from the Talshahar area, said Ashuganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Shafiqul Alam Chowdhury.
Ashuganj Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Jahangir Alam said the girl’s body has been kept at the hospital morgue. The detained teenager is in police custody and preparations are underway to file a case.
Local residents have urged law enforcement agencies to investigate whether anyone else was involved and ensure a proper investigation into the child’s death.
