Two teenagers killed in bus crash in Tangail

Two teenagers were killed after being run over by an unidentified bus while crossing the Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail on Saturday.

The accident occurred around 5:30 PM at Jamurki bus stand on the highway.

The deceased were identified as Rudra, 14, son of Dalim of Jamurki village in Mirzapur, and Jhalak, 15, son of late Panchu of Noskarchala in Safipur, Gazipur.

Police and locals said the two teenagers were crossing the road at Jamurki bus stand when a Dhaka-bound passenger bus ran them over, killing them on the spot.

Gorai Highway Police recovered their bodies from the scene.

Mohammad Sharif, officer-in-charge of Gorai Highway Police Station, said the bodies were handed over to the families after completing the legal procedures. The unidentified bus could not be detained.
