Isak leaves Sweden camp with injury, Liverpool concerned

Liverpool forward Alexander Isak has left the Sweden camp early after suffering an injury, raising concerns at the Premier League club.

The Swedish Football Association said the injury was not serious but confirmed that Isak would miss Sweden’s next three Nations League matches.

Isak played the full 90 minutes in Sweden’s 2-1 win over Romania on Friday and scored his side’s opening goal. He experienced discomfort in his leg after the match, and tests were carried out before the decision was made to release him from the national team camp.

The exact nature of the injury has not been disclosed. The Swedish Football Association described it as a minor injury.

Isak will undergo further examinations under Liverpool’s medical team after returning to the club.

The 27-year-old will miss Sweden’s upcoming Nations League matches against Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Romania.

Liverpool will face Manchester City on October 11 after the international break. With almost two weeks before the match, the club will hope Isak recovers in time to feature.

Isak has made a strong start to the season since joining Liverpool. He has scored four goals in five Premier League appearances and is second in the league’s scoring chart behind Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.
