
Bangladesh Bank has identified 22 unauthorised payment platforms and warned people against using or conducting transactions through them.
The central bank’s Payment Systems Supervision Department said the platforms have been providing payment aggregator services without Bangladesh Bank’s approval or licence.
Under Section 4(2) of the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2024, no person, institution or company can operate a payment system or provide payment services in Bangladesh without a licence from the central bank.
Violation of the law is punishable under Section 37(1).
The central bank advised people to avoid using the identified platforms or engaging in any transactions or activities with them to prevent legal complications and financial losses.
The platforms are BohudurPay, ZiniPay, PayTiller, BengaliPay, Payora BD, SohojPay BD, EasyPayWay, AK Pay, BD PAY, ShajgarPay, AsthaPay/CPay, UddoktaPay, Walletmix, BttPay, Easy Pay Automation, UniquePay BD, BD AUTO PAY, RH Pay BD, EzePay, AutoPay Ltd, Biswasto and PipraPay.
