Police show 27 arrested 

Police have shown 27 of the total 289 people detained from central office of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JaSaD) in Gulistan of the capital as arrested, accusing them of creating an “unstable and chaotic atmosphere” by chanting “Joy Bangla” slogan. 

On Sunday night, Paltan Model Police Station (PS) Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Nazmul Islam produced 27 arrestees before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court and sought their detention after formally arresting them under Section 54 of Code of Criminal Procedure.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam subsequently ordered them to be sent to jail and fixed Monday for hearing their bail petitions.

Police Prosecution Division SI Masud Khan confirmed the development.
