Unidentified man found dead outside DMC

An unidentified man, aged around 50, was found unconscious outside the garden gate of Dhaka Medical College Hospital in the capital’s Shahbagh area on Monday.

He was taken to the hospital’s emergency department around 4:30 PM, where an on-duty doctor declared him dead around 5 PM.

Shahbagh Police Sub-Inspector Majibul Alam said locals described the man as a vagrant and his identity could not be established immediately.

Police suspect he may have died from illness. The exact cause will be known after an autopsy, he said.

The Criminal Investigation Department’s crime scene unit has been informed, and efforts are underway to identify the man using technology. The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
