Homemaker killed after being run over by train in Bogura

A 50-year-old homemaker was killed after being run over by a train in Bogura on Monday (September 28).

The accident occurred around 11am in the Shahardighi area of Sadar upazila. The deceased, Rabeya Begum, was the wife of Halim Khan of the area.

Police and locals said Rabeya had a mental health condition and regularly took medication. She left home unnoticed in the morning and later went onto the railway track. She was run over by the Karatoa Express, travelling from Santahar to Lalmonirhat, and died on the spot.

Police Sub-Inspector Bablur Rahman said no complaint was filed by the family, so an autopsy was not conducted. The body was later handed over to the family.
