Decomposed body of expatriate's wife found at Atgharia 

PABNA, Sept 28: Police have recovered the decomposed, hanging body of a housewife named Champa Khatun, 22, from her home in Shibpur Village under Ekdanta Union in Atgharia Upazila of the district. She was found with a noose around her neck.

The body was recovered on Sunday afternoon. Preliminary estimates suggest she may have died four to five days prior.

Amir Uddin, the Union Parishad (UP) member for Ward No. 7, confirmed the information. The deceased, Champa Khatun, was the wife of Aslam Hossain of Shibpur Village; her husband is a migrant worker in Malaysia.

According to local sources, neighbours noticed a foul odour coming from the house on Sunday afternoon. Upon informing others in the area, they went to the scene and discovered Champa Khatun's body hanging from the ceiling fan in her room. Police arrived after being notified and recovered the body.

Family sources stated that Champa Khatun had been suffering from mental health issues. Locals suspect she may have committed suicide by hanging herself four to five days ago.

Nazmul Haque, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Atgharia Police Station, stated that police recovered the body and sent it to the Pabna General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
