ACC seeks wealth statements from Biplob, Liton's families

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to issue notices seeking wealth statements from former police superintendent Abdullah Aref (Biplob), his wife Farzana Abedin, and the wife, father and mother of Chuadanga sub-registrar Md Golam Mortuza Liton.

The decision was taken at the ACC headquarters on Monday, September 28, ACC Public Relations Officer Md Aktarul Islam said.

According to the ACC, allegations of abuse of power, bribery and acquisition of illegal wealth were raised against Abdullah Aref and his wife. Following an inquiry, the commission decided to seek details of their assets.

Separately, the ACC decided to issue notices to Liton, his wife, father and mother over allegations of acquiring illegal assets worth around Tk 4.71 crore.

The notices will require the concerned family members to submit details of their assets, liabilities and sources of income within the stipulated time.
