Nirab wants to work with Shakib Khan, on one condition

Film actor Nirab believes that, alongside government initiatives, involving people from the film industry is essential to making domestic tourism more attractive. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of producing big-budget, multi-starrer films to draw audiences back to movie theaters.
The actor also expressed his interest in working with Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan again.
The ‘Kuakata Tourism Carnival 2026’ is scheduled to take place in Kuakata on October 23 and 24. Nirab attended a ‘Meet the Press’ event held on Monday at the Shailaprapat Auditorium of the Tourism Bhaban in Agargaon, organized by the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, where he discussed domestic tourism and the film industry.
Highlighting the potential of various tourist destinations across the country, Nirab noted that places like Sreemangal, Cox’s Bazar, Khagrachhari, Rajshahi, Barishal and Kuakata could be made even more appealing through planned development. He said that organizing regular tourism carnivals, alongside government support, would boost interest among both domestic and international tourists in these locations.
Reflecting on his experience working with Shakib Khan, Nirab recalled their first film together, ‘Mon Jekhane Hridoy Sekhane’, noting that he still remembers the experience of working on the project.
When asked if he would like to work with him again, he set a condition: he believes a strong story and character are prerequisites for a successful collaboration with Shakib Khan. He said he would be willing to work with Shakib again if the right project came along.
Nirab also spoke about the current state of the domestic film industry. In his view, directors, producers, theater owners and booking agents must work together to bring audiences back to cinemas. He suggested that producing big-budget, multi-starrer films featuring multiple popular stars could be a way to achieve this.
Nirab remarked that everyone involved in the film industry, from production assistants to producers, shares a love for cinema. He expressed optimism that the country's film industry would bounce back if this passion and spirit of collective effort were maintained.
Various arrangements are being made for tourists in connection with the ‘Kuakata Tourism Carnival 2026’. The two-day carnival will be held in Kuakata on October 23 and 24.
