Man gets life term for raping child in Narayanganj

A Narayanganj court on Tuesday sentenced a 45-year-old man to life imprisonment for raping a 10-year-old child in Bandar.

The court also fined Md Monir Hossain Tk 5,000, with an additional two months of rigorous imprisonment if he fails to pay the fine.

Child Violence Prevention Tribunal Judge Md Mominur Rahman pronounced the verdict in the presence of the convict.

According to court police, Monir raped the child at their rented house in Bandar on July 18, 2022. The victim's mother later filed a case with Bandar Police Station.
