Patwary labels some ministers extortionists  

National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary called for compiling a list of “BNP cohorts” allegedly involved in extortion, naming several government figures and political leaders.
He made the remarks in a post on his verified Facebook account at around 3pm on Tuesday.

“The time has come to compile a list of BNP cohorts involved in extortion,” Patwary wrote.

He named State Minister for Planning Junaid Abdur Rahim Saki, State Minister for Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Nurul Haque Nur, Prime Minister's Adviser on Information and Broadcasting Dr Zahed Ur Rahman, Information Minister Andalib Rahman Partho and State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj.

Patwary also urged others to post the names of additional individuals allegedly involved in extortion in the comments section.

The NCP leader had earlier, in a Facebook post on Monday, warned that he would bid the government "Assalamu Alaikum" if extortion was not brought to an end, signalling that he could withdraw his support for the government.

The latest remarks came amid growing political debate over allegations of extortion and the role of political actors in such activities.
