District police and Detective Branch (DB) personnel detained 379 individuals during an overnight district-wide operation against juvenile gangs in Cumilla.
The coordinated drive was conducted from 7:00 PM on Tuesday (September 29) until midnight across 18 police stations. Units from the district police and DB targeted various locations in Cumilla city and surrounding police jurisdictions known for youth gatherings and harassment.
Senior police officers, including the Superintendent of Police, directly participated in the drive.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Finance and Administration) Lutfar Rahman stated that law enforcement is evaluating the involvement of the detainees in criminal activities to take necessary legal action.
He added that the district police regularly conduct these operations to prevent adolescents from engaging in crime, while maintaining strict monitoring to ensure innocent individuals are not subjected to harassment.
