Five-day holiday announced for Durga Puja

The government has announced a five-day holiday for Durga Puja from October 20 to 24, with October 22 declared an additional holiday by executive order.

October 20 will be a holiday on the occasion of Mahanavami, while October 21 is a general holiday for Bijoya Dashami. October 22 has now been declared a holiday, followed by the weekly holidays on Friday and Saturday, October 23 and 24.

As a result, government employees will get five consecutive days off during the festival.

Two days of optional leave have also been provided for Hindu government employees and officials, as in previous years.

The Bangladesh Bank’s existing holiday schedule lists October 20 and 21 as holidays for Durga Puja. Any changes to banking operations will be made through separate instructions from the central bank.
