Woman found hanging after marrying first husband’s friend

A housewife was found hanging at a rented house in Demra, Dhaka, 23 days after marrying a friend of her first husband.

The deceased was identified as Sumaiya Akter Lucky, 33. Police recovered her body from a house in the Sarulia Bakultala area around 11 AM on Tuesday and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy on Wednesday.

According to her sister Dolly, Lucky had previously been married to a man named Rezaul and had a 10-year-old son. After their divorce, she came to Dhaka for work on September 6 and later married Ashraful, her former husband’s friend.
