Keraniganj jail inmate dies at DMCH

A 40-year-old inmate of Keraniganj Central Jail died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) early Thursday.

Md Shahin Alam died around 5:30 AM at the Medicine Department’s Ward 701, according to prison officials.

He fell ill in jail on September 30 and was taken to the DMCH emergency department before being admitted to the Medicine Department. The case under which he was detained could not be immediately confirmed.

DMCH police camp Inspector Habibur Rahman said the body was kept at the morgue for autopsy. It will be handed over to his family after the post-mortem examination.
