Around 434,000 Bangladeshi workers found employment abroad in the past seven months despite ongoing war situations, Expatriates’ Welfare Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury said Thursday.
He made the remarks while inaugurating a trolley service for expatriate workers and inspecting the expatriate welfare desk at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram.
The minister said workers must go abroad with proper skills, as simply increasing the number of migrant workers would not benefit the country.
He also called for an emergency medical centre and a rest house near the airport to reduce the difficulties faced by expatriate workers during flight delays.
