Bangladesh will face Indonesia in their final FIFA ASEAN Cup group-stage match today, hoping to end their campaign on a positive note and mark Hamza Chowdhury’s 29th birthday with a victory.
Bangladesh have already been eliminated after losing 3-0 to Malaysia and 1-0 to Singapore in their first two matches.
Indonesia, who have won four of their six previous meetings with Bangladesh, will start as favourites. However, Bangladesh coach Thomas Duli said his players will give their best in the final match.
Duli stressed the importance of mentality in football and said an underdog can sometimes surprise a stronger opponent if the favourite takes them lightly.
