Sweden will shift the decision-making process for Schengen visa applications submitted from Bangladesh to the Swedish Migration Agency in Sweden from October 15, while applicants will continue submitting their applications through VFS Global in Dhaka.

The Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka announced the change on Thursday (October 1).

Under the new arrangement, the embassy in Dhaka will no longer make decisions on Schengen visa applications. Instead, the Swedish Migration Agency will make the decisions in Sweden.

However, the change will not affect the application submission process. Applicants will still need to book appointments with VFS Global and submit their applications and passports there, as before.

The Swedish embassy has advised applicants to follow its latest instructions for detailed information on the new arrangement.
