Jubo Dal leader detained for assaulting police

The incident occurred on Thursday (October 1) around 9:00 PM at the main gate of Sitakunda Model Police Station, where an altercation broke out between Ismael Hossain and Constable Md. Shafiq over motorcycle parking. During the argument, Ismael allegedly physically assaulted the police officer.

Police sources confirmed that Constable Shafiq sustained injuries in the attack and was subsequently taken to the Sitakunda Upazila Health Complex for medical treatment.

Local BNP and Jubo Dal leaders claimed the incident stemmed from a minor verbal dispute. Efforts to reach Upazila BNP leaders for official comments were unsuccessful.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sitakunda Model Police Station, Mohinul Islam, stated that Ismael Hossain was taken into custody immediately following the assault and that legal proceedings against the accused are underway.
