A mobile court sealed a diagnostic centre in Paltan, Dhaka, for conducting medical tests and issuing reports for Malaysia-bound workers without government approval.
The Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment said the action was taken on Thursday.
The Human Diagnostic and Medical Centre had conducted medical tests for 14 Malaysia-bound workers between September 20 and 30 without authorisation. The centre was also found using a signboard bearing the name ‘Samiha Diagnostic Centre’ alongside its own, allegedly for deceptive activities.
The mobile court shut down and sealed the centre immediately.
Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury said the government would take strict action against unauthorised and fraudulent activities involving overseas employment and medical reports.
