Woman killed after hit by train in Faridpur

An unidentified woman was killed after being hit by a train in Nagarkanda upazila of Faridpur on Friday afternoon.

The accident occurred around 12:30 PM, about 100 yards west of Bashagari railway crossing in Dangi Union under Nagarkanda Police Station.

According to police, the woman was hit by the Dhaka-bound Madhumati Express from Rajshahi while the train was passing through the Bashagari area. She died on the spot.

On information, Sub-Inspector (SI) Nasirul Haque of the Bhanga Railway Police Outpost went to the scene and prepared an inquest report on the body.

Nagarkanda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rasul Samdani Azad and Sub-Inspector (SI) Nur Mohammad also visited the scene and assisted the railway police with the legal procedures.

Confirming the incident, OC Rasul Samdani Azad said, "the identity of the deceased woman has not yet been established. Efforts are underway to identify her and take necessary legal action."
