Teen electrocuted to death in Jhenaidah

A 16-year-old boy died after being electrocuted by electric trap at a dragon fruit garden in Maheshpur upazila of Jhenaidah.
His body was recovered from the garden in Chunnirait village on Saturday morning (October 3).
The deceased was identified as Jihad Hossain, son of Delwar Hossain from Chunnirait village.
According to family members, Jihad left home having dinner on Friday night but did not return. His body was found near a dragon fruit garden owned by Tuhin, son of Abdul Quddus of Bhairaba village, the following morning.
Police and family members suspect that Jihad was electrocuted by and electric trap set up at the garden while he was entering or passing through the area.
Maheshpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Azad Rahman said, "police were sent to the scene. “The matter will be investigated, and necessary action will be taken,” he said.
