A 19-year-old youth was stabbed to death while trying to stop a dispute at a tea stall in Satkhira town on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Zakaria Khan, son of Abdul Gafur, owner of Ruchira Bakery in Satkhira. The incident occurred around 11:30 PM near the Livestock Hospital intersection.

According to local BNP leader Masum Billah Shahin, Zakaria was having tea at a shop when an argument broke out between another customer and the shopkeeper. The argument later turned into a physical altercation.

When Zakaria stepped in to stop the dispute, the man allegedly attacked him with a sharp knife, stabbing him several times in the chest and abdomen before fleeing the scene.

Zakaria was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead.

Police visited the scene and began investigating the incident. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the alleged attacker.
