Anti-dengue cleanliness drives conducted in two districts

Separate drives as part of the nationwide “Dengue Prevention and Cleanliness Campaign 2026” to prevent the spread of dengue were conducted in Khulna and Noakhali districts on Saturday.

KHULNA: The campaign is being conducted every Saturday under the initiative of the Khulna District Administration.

Khulna Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hoore Jannat led the drive, joined by officials and employees of the district administration, District Rover Scouts, Girl Guides, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and BD Clean.

The cleanliness activities were carried out on the Khulna Collectorate premises and at several educational institutions in the city, including Nazrul Nagar Secondary Girls’ School, Haji Abdul Malek Secondary School, Government Laboratory High School, Fulbari BK Government Primary School, Unmesh Government Primary School, Khanabari Municipal Government Primary School and Senpara Zahir Uddin Ganabidyapith Government Primary School.
Additional DCs of the district administration were present during the campaign. 

NOAKHALI: As part of the nationwide 2026 dengue prevention and cleanliness campaign, Noakhali Municipality conducted a special cleanup drive on the Noakhali Government College campus on Saturday, alongside its routine sanitation activities.

The drive began in the morning, with municipal workers clearing garbage, weeds and stagnant water from various parts of the campus to eliminate potential breeding grounds for Aedes mosquitoes, which transmit dengue.
Noakhali Municipality Secretary Mohammad Al Farabi and municipal staff took part in the cleanup.
