State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku on Saturday said the government is working to further improve the law and order situation and eliminate drugs from society.
“At the same time, various awareness programmes, including sports activities, are being organised to ensure that school students engage in sports and cultural activities alongside their studies and do not become involved in drugs in any way,” he said.
The state minister said this while replying queries of journalists after the inauguration of the first Community Police Kabaddi Championship-2026, organised by the district police, at the Tangail Police Lines ground. Tuku said a committee has already been formed under community policing. “We want to collectively improve the law and order situation further,” he added.
He said drugs are not produced in Bangladesh. Attempts are being made to destroy the country’s youth by deliberately bringing these drugs into the country from other countries, he said.
Addressing political leaders and activists, the state minister said, “There will be no lobbying regarding drugs. Everyone must raise awareness among people from their respective positions and take necessary measures.
The police force will also take the highest possible action against its members so that no one can become involved in any drug-related activities.”
