A drug-addicted youth was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants in Pabna Sadar upazila on Sunday afternoon.
The incident took place around 5:30 PM in Bil Bhaduria village under Malanchi Union.
The deceased was identified as Sumon Hossain, 32, son of Rabiul Islam, hailing from Bil Bhaduria village.
Pabna Additional Superintendent of Police Shakhawat Hossain confirmed the incident, stating that the victim was repeatedly stabbed with sharp weapons.
He added that police were dispatched to the scene immediately after receiving news of the murder, and the victim's father confirmed Sumon was addicted to drugs.
The motive behind the killing and the identity of the perpetrators remain unknown. Police are currently working to determine the details of the crime and identify those involved.
The body has been recovered and sent to the local hospital morgue, while legal proceedings regarding the murder are currently underway.
