Mobile court fines three at Kaliganj

KALIGANJ, GAZIPUR, Oct 4: Three people were fined a total of Tk 18,000 in separate cases for violating Section 40 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009, during a mobile court operation in Kaliganj Upazila of the district on Sunday.

The operation was conducted in South Bhadartti and Dorisom areas of Tumlia Union and was led by Al-Amin Haldar, Kaliganj’s assistant commissioner (land) and executive magistrate.

According to the mobile court, three cases were filed over violations of Section 40. Raju Ahmed of Dorisom Village was fined Tk 5,000, Chunnu Mia of the same village Tk 3,000, and Rezaul of South Bhadartti Tk 10,000. Bench assistant Mahbubul Islam assisted in the operation.

Haldar said such drives will continue in the public interest.
