Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan is set to star in a new film titled ‘Mohabbat’, to be directed by Himel Ashraf, director of the hit films ‘Priyotoma’ and ‘Rajkumar.’
Shakib announced the project by sharing the film’s poster on Facebook which stated, “A new journey begins with a new story.” The film is scheduled to be released during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
Describing the project, Shakib wrote, “Sometimes love comes with a price, a promise and a struggle. This is the story of Mohabbat.”
Following the announcement, speculation has been rife over who will play the heroine opposite Shakib. According to several media reports, the actor may once again be paired with a foreign actress rather than a Bangladeshi heroine.
The names of Pakistani actresses Hania Aamir, Sajal Aly, Yumna Zaidi and Durefishan Saleem have reportedly surfaced in connection with the project. The reports said preliminary discussions are underway with some of the actresses.
However, director Himel Ashraf and producer Arshad Adnan have remained tight-lipped about the casting. They have only said that the heroine’s name will be announced soon.
With ‘Mohabbat’, the makers appear set to continue the trend, although the identity of Shakib’s next co-star remains under wraps for now.
