Cristiano Ronaldo’s wife Georgina Rodriguez has criticised Portugal coach Jorge Jesus over his treatment of the star forward, sharing and later deleting social media posts questioning the coach’s decision-making.

Georgina shared an Instagram graphic featuring former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and a quote questioning why Ronaldo was called up if the coach had no intention of playing him. The authenticity of the quote attributed to Ferguson, however, has not been independently verified.

Georgina also posted a personal remark questioning how Jesus could bear the name of Christ before deleting it within minutes.

The posts came amid controversy over Ronaldo’s departure from Portugal’s national team camp. Jesus has denied any rift with Ronaldo, saying team selection is solely his responsibility and that the same rules apply to every player.

Ronaldo’s sister Elma Aveiro has also publicly backed him, criticising Portuguese media over the treatment of the veteran forward.

Ronaldo has not announced his international retirement, but his future with Portugal remains uncertain. He is expected to issue a statement that could clarify his plans and his relationship with Jesus.
