The ‘July Warriors Alliance’, a new organisation comprising participants in the July mass uprising, has been launched with five senior National Citizen Party (NCP) leaders appointed to its advisory council.
The NCP announced the formation in a press release on Monday, unveiling the organisation’s partial central committee. Its members will serve one-year terms.
Md Salman Hossain has been appointed president, Hasibul Hasan general secretary and Mustain Billah Habibi organising secretary.
The advisory council includes NCP spokesperson Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Chief Organiser (Northern Region) Sarjis Alam, Political Council members Dr Mahmuda Mitu and Nusrat Tabassum, both MPs, and Central Organiser Advocate Arman Hossain.
According to the press release, the advisory council and central committee were formed to uphold the spirit and achievements of the July mass uprising and ensure justice, dignity and rights for those killed or injured during the movement.
